What Happens in Vegas…

Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the most vibrant cities in the world. With a dazzling array of attractions and entertainment options to suit every taste. I recently had the pleasure of spending four days in this incredible city with my husband and it was an experience that I will never forget. Despite visiting a few times as a kid, there’s nothing like experiencing Vegas as an adult! In this blog post, I will be recapping my trip and sharing the top things to do in Sin City.

Things to Do in Las Vegas | Our 4-Day Itinerary

Day 1- Explore The Vegas Hotels

Arrive in Las Vegas. Before you head into the strip, grab a photo by the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign! Unfortunately, the weather wouldn’t allow us to take a pic but this is the best time to do it since it’s further away! Depending on your travel situation, be prepared for jet lag. Coming from the East Coast, you wouldn’t think 3 hours is a lot to throw you off- but it is! We settled for exploring the Canal Shoppes at the Venetian and eating an early dinner at Delmonico’s before crashing. However, if the weather permits, try to fit in a trip to the Neon Lights Museum after dinner! You get to view the iconic signs and learn the history of Vegas beyond the Elvis impersonators and Ocean’s 11 movies.

Day 2- Venture from The Strip

I swear, Vegas is like Disney World for adults. It’s a lot more walking than you realize!  Start your day with a nice breakfast to keep your energy up. The food in Las Vegas is an experience by itself. With that in mind, we knew we had to try one of the largest buffets in the country for brunch. “The Buffet” at The Wynn Resort had everything you could think of. And with a solid 2-hour time limit to enjoy your meal, there’s no rush on chowing down!

Feeling a little adventurous, we decided to stray from the strip and visit one of the city’s more unconventional attractions, Area 15. This immersive entertainment complex is a must-see for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary during their time in the desert. While it’s great for all ages, it definitely felt like an adult playground! With its mix of art, technology, bars, and games, it’s one of a kind!

I had a blast exploring the interactive exhibits and installations, but I particularly enjoyed the Omega Mart. And don’t mistake this for your average Instagram museum. It’s a surreal supermarket that was like a mix of Stranger Things and Severance with a bunch of hidden rooms inside the exhibit to explore. You can also shop it like a regular store and get some quirky merch! Highly recommend it if you’re on the hunt for activities that don’t revolve around drinking or gambling in the city.

Is it even a trip to Las Vegas without attending a Cirque Du Soleil show? After Dinner at Sushisamba, we rushed to the early performance of “O” at the Bellagio. I’ve seen Ka and Mystique as well but each show is unique in its delivery! Because of the water acrobatics, it added another level of intensity you can’t really see in their traveling performances. The athleticism, music, and choreography were all jaw-dropping. Will kept making fun of my dramatic gasps when they’d leap off of 50-foot structures into the water. But can you blame me?! Super family friendly and I’d gladly see it again!

Day 3- Attend a Vegas Show

Since we knew we’d be out until 12 AM (3 AM EST) we paced ourselves on our last full day. We spent the morning exploring the Strip and taking in some of the sights and sounds of Las Vegas. We visited some of the famous casinos, and the Bellagio conservatory, and enjoyed a leisurely brunch at Bardot Brasserie. That French toast is to DIE for. And the perfect brunch spot for a trip with the girls!

A few rounds at the slots later, we decided to indulge in some luxury and booked a spa day. The Canyon Ranch Spa is an award-winning center of relaxation so we knew we made the right choice. The 130,000+ sq ft. spa was a haven of tranquility, with a range of treatments and services to choose from.  We opted for a couples massage and some hydrotherapy, truly a treat! Will even said it was one of the best massages he’s ever had.  We both emerged feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to tackle the night ahead.

And now it was time for the reason for the entire trip!  We met up with my sister and brother-in-law at China Poblano and drinks at the Chandelier Bar at Cosmopolitan. Then drove over to see Adele in concert at Caesar’s Palace. The show was nothing short of spectacular, with Adele’s incredible voice filling the arena and captivating the audience from start to finish. I was in awe of how she had such a vibrant performance despite slow ballads dominating 95% of her catalog.  She performed many of her hit songs, including “Hello,” “Rolling in the Deep,” and “Someone Like You.” The energy in the room was electric, and it was an unforgettable way to cap off our Las Vegas adventure.

Day 4- Enjoy Local Art

Time to travel back! We were BEAT after that concert. But I had a trip planned to 7 Magic Mountains ready for the morning. It’s only 20 minutes from the airport and a free photo opp!  Overall, my four-day trip to Las Vegas was an incredible experience. From the awe-inspiring performances to the unconventional attractions, there was never a dull moment in this vibrant city. I can’t wait to return and explore even more of what Las Vegas has to offer!

Where to Stay in Las Vegas

Don’t just book based on photos and reviews. Each hotel and resort in Las Vegas has something different to offer. So keep that in mind before you book a hotel on the Vegas Strip!

The Venetian- best for families and large groups

This wasn’t my first time at The Venetian and I’ll definitely be back! The room sizes are great and the number of things to do just in the hotel makes it a winner for me. The price and convenience of the Adele Concert were an added bonus!

The Cosmopolitan- best for bachelorette parties

The entire vibe is flirty, feminine, and fun. Plus, The Chandelier bar? Enough said.

The Park MGM- smoke-free casinos

You never really notice how much cigarette smoke can affect you in short periods of time until you visit the casinos in Vegas. I don’t really come in contact with it much at the bars or restaurants in Charlotte, so my allergies were not happy with me on this trip. Thankfully, face masks are in vogue and made it so much easier. Next time, I’ll consider staying at the Park MGM for an easy-breathing experience!

The Aria- best location and for couples

My only con to the Aria is that there isn’t a “theme.” Sure, they’re not for everyone! But I feel like I can stay at a luxurious, modern hotel in any major city across the globe. Despite the lack of originality, the aesthetic is truly stunning. It’s right in the center of the Las Vegas strip so it’ll be convenient for whatever you have planned for the week. Pro tip: book a suite with a balcony towards the Bellagio water fountains. You’ll get the perks of the best vantage point for the show and a more updated room.

The Wynn- best for luxury and fancy experience

No one does it like the Wynn. As evident from the waterfalls visible from Las Vegas boulevard, there are jaw-dropping displays everywhere you walk. It just screams wealth the moment you step onto the property. If you want to feel like you’re balling out during your time in Las Vegas, this is your pick.

The Best Restaurants in Vegas

When it comes to food on the strip, be prepared to spend some cash. But these spots were all worth it! You can eat at local places away from Las Vegas BLVD or a few chain restaurants to alleviate the cost! We made sure to eat a heavy breakfast later in the day and a big dinner. 😅 And brought snacks from home for the times in between! You can also go to the “food court” restaurants in the major resorts to have your choice of cheaper options ($$) for lunch.
