10 Fall Things to Do in Charlotte | A Guide to The Best Fall Activities

One of the many reasons that I love living in Charlotte is the distinct seasons. And not many states can do fall better than North Carolina. Watching the leaves change along Blue Ridge Parkway, just 3 hours from the city is a blessing! Even though I’ve lived here for two years, there are still plenty of items on my fall bucket list that I need to check off! And I’m sure there are plenty of activities listed you’ll want to check out too! Here are 10 things I’m looking forward to experiencing this fall in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fall Charlotte Things to Do

Go apple picking at Windy Hill Orchard & Cider Mill

1860 Black Highway York, SC

And yes, I’ll be on the lookout for their famous apple cider donuts, too!

When I lived in San Francisco in 2018, I made sure to visit wine country. That’s the last time I’ve visited a vineyard- which of course, is far too long. These wineries and vineyards range from 40 minutes-2 hours from Charlotte. Sounds like the perfect day date to me!

Although many locals prefer a weekend trip to Asheville for the city’s size, I feel like I’ve explored as much as I can. I’m ready to experience the surrounding cities like Boone, Beech Mountain, Highlands, Black Mountain, and more this fall and winter season!

Does anyone else feel nostalgia just staring at a Ferris wheel at night? It automatically transports me back to being a kid again with a local fair in a church parking lot. While I might not trust the stability of a mobile roller coaster (it just doesn’t make sense ok!!) I’ll never turn down a good funnel cake!

  1. What a fun roundup of fall activities here in the Queen City. I noticed the Getaway cabin – have you stayed at the outpost in Asheboro? Or is there another one opening in WNC?

Hi! Add Piccione Vineyards to the list – it’s right next door to Raffaldini and my favorite winery down here! Excellent Italian wines, super friendly staff, and same beautiful views.
