We love capsule wardrobes! As I transition back into the working world, I value pieces that work for multiple occasions. It’ll save me the hassle of running home to change for blog events or date nights after time at the office. Like spring work wear, the key to successfully creating a day to night outfit is layers. The accessories of your main clothing piece are the true rockstars of the look. This black jumpsuit from Vici Collection is the perfect example of versatility. I’m wearing an XS for sizing reference. It’s simple (and has pockets!) enough to dress up or down however you’d like.
If your office has a dress code that leans more towards business professional vs. business casual, it’s a little trickier. But it’s still doable! If you’re wearing standard business pants like these faves from Loft you can swap your top for something a bit more relaxed like a graphic tee. You can also switch your blazer from boss to everyday style with a denim jacket. I could never imagine taking pencil skirts from “day to night”. They’re great for the office but once it hits 5 PM I am DONE. If you’re really into them, try adding sneakers and removing your jacket to give it a New York street style look.
P.S. Don’t forget you can use my code, TOMI20 to get 20% off anything on vicicollection.com!
I wanted to also share a few life updates for those who are interested. You know, besides the whole getting married thing. I’ll be moving to Charlotte at the end of the month to an apartment with Will! After 5 years, we’ll finally be in the same city and I cannot WAIT! We decided an apartment would be better for us right now since we’re in the beginning stages of our careers. It gives us flexibility if we decide to move 1-2 years from now and really save up for a house where we won’t have to do too many projects! If you haven’t noticed, I’m not exactly Bob the Builder. It’s located right in the heart of downtown Charlotte. We’ll be able to really be a part of the growing community and most importantly be in walking distance to all the great restaurants hehe.
Once I’m settled into our new home, I’ll begin the job hunt after the honeymoon. It’s been pretty difficult applying to jobs right now since everyone wants the positions filled immediately and not a month from now! I’ve also been fielding a lot of questions about my graduation. Since I did an internship last summer, it pushed me to an August graduation. I’ll be finishing my MBA from Clemson in 2 months! Thankfully the only courses left are either online or part of my 2-week study abroad trip to Oxford in July. Praise God. It was important to me to finish up all of the on-campus commitments while I was still living in Greenville so I could focus on newlywed life after June 2nd! With just a couple of classes left, I can’t wait to walk across that stage one last time.

That’s so exciting! Congratulations again on the engagement and early congrats on graduating with your MBA. I have only 12 months before I’m done with my Doctorate of Pharmacy degree and hopefully I’ll be moving soon too. Have no idea where yet, but I’m excited regardless.
