I feel like this is a blogger’s favorite phrase. “I’ve been getting sooo many questions about X.” LOL. But I promise this time it’s true! It’s been a while since I’ve reintroduced myself. What better time than the top of 2021 to share more about me. I compiled a list of my most frequently asked questions for easy access. But please feel free to reach out if something isn’t on this post!
“TOE-me”. NOT Tommy as in pickles, Tony as in Tiger, and definitely not Tomi as in Lasagna.

GoodTomiCha should be pronounced like “good to meet cha.” I wanted to create a blog name that would be able to last through different style evolutions, cross country moves, and potential last name changes. So I figured doing a pun with my first name was the safest bet!
I read a BUNCH of blog posts from influencers and bloggers I admired. Blair Staky from Blogging 4 Keeps and Cathy from The Blog Societies created a lot of “start from scratch” content that I needed. But in the end, you just have to START! Have a few posts ready to go, grab a tripod for a quick photoshoot and you’re ready to rock and roll.
90% of the time I work with a professional photographer for my blog. However, when I’m not, I use a Canon 80D for photoshoots (lenses can vary). For vlogging attempts, I use the Canon G7x Mark II because it’s so portable! And I currently have the iPhone XS Max, but I’m hoping to upgrade that soon. I don’t think it’s 100% necessary to have a DSLR camera, but I’ve always struggled to replicate the quality on a phone. A dozen Youtube tutorials and TikToks later and they still look like they were taken on a potato in comparison. So, if this is you and your goal is to create high-level content, invest in a camera. This is probably my most faq because I didn’t officially announce it on the blog. Whoops! But as of January 2020, yes! :)
Instead of choosing what to blog about because it’s popular, stick to what you’re knowledgeable about. People want to learn about different niches from credible creators! Even if you think that it’s less profitable to do so, I promise you focusing on an engaged community is better in the long run. You can read more of my tips for content creators on the blog here.

I went through a few phases including a doctor, actress/singer, and meteorologist (???). However much to my parent’s chagrin, I made it to 3.5 years into pre-med before giving up. I just felt like international business/entrepreneurship would be my calling instead. I guess I was right!
Rice, red beef stew, and plantains. It’s a super easy Nigerian meal and always makes me feel better! For food, long-time readers will not be surprised to hear it’s bread! Jamaican Bread or Brioche to be exact.
I can never think of favorite movies when the time comes but I love a good sci-fi or mystery! For tv shows, I love Game of Thrones (minus S8), Love Island, Dark, RHOP, The Bachelor… Clearly, my taste is all over the place.
