Back at it again with a roundup post. You guys loved reading my blog post about the 7 best places to find trendy, affordable workwear. After sharing, I received a lot of comments from readers asking for me to share one for gym wear! Even if you’re just looking to up your athleisure style, you’ll love these stores. Let’s be honest, Lululemon makes some amazing leggings, but do they really deserve all our coin? There are so many great retailers out there that make quality workout clothes for less! If you haven’t noticed by now, I love finding a good bargain or sale (I doubt that will end even after I’m finally out of school lol). These brands are great for everything from yoga, HIIT exercise, and weightlifting. I’m happy to share my favorite places to find affordable workout clothes!
Quick notes on my outfit from above: I loveeee my zip-up jacket because it has thumb-holes in the sleeves which stops me from having awkward T-rex hands when I’m running. It also gives me major, “I’m a tennis mom who loves matcha and drives a range rover” vibes and I’m completely ok with that. My leggings go in and out of stock so check for updates and are great for gym workouts! You can also get them in blue. Yes, my shoes are actually kid sizes but they fit just like a women’s size 7! I saved $50 and I’m never paying full price for sneakers again. And finally, my Bluetooth headphones are perfect for those who don’t want to make a full investment for Beats. Solid quality (it could be better, I won’t lie) but pretty great for only $80!
My entire workout outfit above is from Forever 21, so I thought it’d be best to include them first! I also own this cropped hoodie which I LOVE. The best activewear from Forever 21 would have to be their matching sets. This floral print sports bra and leggings is just one example! I also love how they’ve mastered the aesthetic of Nike, but of course at Forever 21 prices! Plus, how bomb is this honeycomb sports bras?!
As I mentioned in my workwear on a budget post, TJ Maxx is always great for building looks for less. Cheap doesn’t mean horrible quality which is exactly why I love them. I can always count on them to find on a grad student budget. Pro tip: Use TJ Maxx for workout gear like yoga mats, kettlebells, and water bottles too.
Any excuse to go to Target, right? While they do have great yoga pants like this pair for $28 and this zip pullover, I’ve always bought my sports bras from Target! That might be my #bcupprivelege talking, but I think they’re super comfortable and give me enough support for HIIT workouts.
My holy grail for affordable workout clothes. Old Navy has the cutest pairs of leggings and simple tops. I shared this look earlier on Instagram from Old Navy featuring a $14 sports bra! Plus, they’re always having a sale.
Two words. Zella Leggings. These are the Lululemon dupes you’ve been looking for. I had so many readers share that once they bought these they didn’t go back! The “live-in” leggings style is the most popular and 1/2 the price of Lulu! For the rest of your workout wear needs, I would head to Nordstrom RACK for the best goodies. They have name brands like Puma, Adidas, and Nike for a fraction of the price.
Kohl’s always has a large section of their workout clothes towards the front of their stores. And thanks to the retail apocalypse, department stores like Kohl’s are constantly having sales to push their merchandise. Works out well for those of us trying to stay on a budget! Their athletic shoe section is pretty expansive and I need to stock up on these shorts!
I mean at this point, Amazon should be a given. It’s the go-to-stop for all your exercise needs like free weights, supplements, etc. They have best-seller ratings on a pack of tank tops for under $30 and these yoga pants with a pocket for your phone. And with prime shipping, you can get started on your healthy lifestyle in just 2 days.
