Hi there, friends! If you’ve been a long time follower of GoodTomiCha, you know that blanket scarves and I are bffls (aka best friends for life). They’re the cozy, warm boyfriend that’ll never leave you during cuddle season. As someone who uses a heated blanket all year round, I can assure you they do the trick. Let’s get down to the basics of this fall essential!
Blanket scarves are typically large and square in size that come in all patterns and materials. (Yes, there is even a denim one, though I wouldn’t recommend it.)
The scarves are trending among some of my favorite fashion bloggers! Emily from The Sweetest Thing Blog and Kate from Lonestar Southern (here’s her post on how to tie them!) are just a few of the women rocking them right now. They’re seriously giving me major fall envy in their daily instas. Go ahead and expect my feed to be covered in them once the south decides to become chilly!
They can’t be beat! Blanket Scarves are a multifunctional accessory, so you’re already getting everything out of whatever price you spent. Wear them as a cape, belt it for a poncho/wrap look, or just style as a typical scarf to have 3 different outfits! It’s also an automatic outfit upgrade. If you’re still transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall (great example of how to do that here) then you can throw this on top of a simple sweater ( like this under $20 STEAL!), jeans, and booties and walk out the door!
My go-to store for quality, thick blanket scarves is definitely ASOS. hands down! They always have sales and do a 10% student discount (sign up here)! Amazon would be a close second because of their unbeatable shipping time and variety.
I’ve created a guide below from classics to scarves that are guaranteed to make you stand out. Enjoy!

Looks like I’m going to have to get myself a blanket scarf! I never realized how versatile they are. I love that you can just wrap it around your entire body if you get too cold.
