What’s the first thing you look for when it comes to choosing a place to stay on vacation? Proximity to things to do, high customer reviews, and plenty of space for the guests are always high on my list. But the one thing that made me hesitant about booking apartment-hotel style options like Domio for travel was the missing sense of luxury. Why would I leave my home to virtually go to the same space in another city?
However, a few moments after I typed in the security code on the unit, I knew that Domio was different. Unlike competitors, I could tell that space had been professionally cleaned from top to bottom. The living room was filled with a soft, but calming fragrance to welcome new guests along with a personally curated gift basket! Branded toiletries were provided in the bathrooms and I loved the subtle touches of their logo in the decor. While other home hotel rental options can be hit or miss when it comes to modern amenities, it’s nice to know that Domio will always have updated appliances, bathrooms, etc. to make guests as comfortable as possible.
I chose the Domio Charlotte for a quick getaway for my friends weekend. I’ve been raving about my love for Charlotte since moving here and it was nice to take them around the city. Since Will and I live in a one-bedroom, hosting them at our place was out of the question. The Domio properties list gave me multiple locations to choose from all within a short distance of Uptown Charlotte at 1/3 of the price of hotels in the area. The amount of SPACE provided is truly unbeatable. And I loved having a kitchen to bake cookies and make hot chocolate during Christmas time! I think they’ll definitely be a go-to for group travel in the future.
It wouldn’t be a full Domio review without constructive criticisms. Ultimately, I would’ve preferred if our room was a couple of floors higher. We could hear a lot of the traffic at night (which was so odd because there was ZERO during the day.) Thankfully, they gifted us earplugs in our welcome basket. And it was never too much where we couldn’t still fall asleep! I’ll just make sure to request that for next time.
