How can I get my skin to look like my favorite Hollywood A-listers? Well, there’s a beauty haven to the stars in Charlotte, North Carolina that can answer that for you.
Toska Spa and Facial Bar is a luxurious European spa right here in The Queen City. Toska Husted, the owner, is a world-renowned aesthetician who has worked on celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Olivia Culpo, Jennifer (Lopez AND Anniston), and many more. In fact, she’s the one to call before they head out onto the red carpet when they need to look and feel their best. It wasn’t until I did my own digging for the best spas in Charlotte that I realized we even had such a famous facialist in our state!
As a self-proclaimed skincare junkie, I love to try out new products and services whenever I can. After moving to Charlotte in 2019, I was determined to find the best-med spa or facialist in our area. But that takes 1) time 2) funding and 3) the ability to give your skin a break in-between services. Add in a pandemic and my search was brought to a halt quicker than I’d like. Thankfully, it’s easier now to get this series back on track. And I’m so excited to share my experiences with my audience as I try! So, let’s get into the review, shall we?
The spa focuses primarily on facial skincare with microdermabrasion, peels, and other add- ons. With their new location in South Park, you can stop by their facial bar on your lunch break for treatments with no downtime. You can also get waxing or tinting during your other services!
I received the remodeling with Deep Cleanse and Manual Lift with a chemical peel add-on. My concerns are with hyperpigmentation and acne scars so this was the perfect option! And while any spa service will take multiple trips to see optimal results, I was happy with what I’ve experienced with my skin in just 7 days. Learn more about my service and chemical FAQs in my Youtube video!
A service at Toska Spa and Facial Bar will typically cost you a cool $250 minimum. If you happen to get on the books with Toska herself, expect that price to double. After a detailed consultation about what works best for my skin, my service cost $395 before tax and gratuity. Don’t let those prices scare you, though. You can always stop in at their facial bar (less private, but just as relaxing) for a 30-minute service for $99!
As with anything deemed “luxury” you’ll have the internal debate if it’s worth it. And similarly to handbags or shoes, just because it has a higher cost doesn’t mean it’s inherently better. You’re essentially paying a premium for the name- which is completely fine! Who doesn’t want to say they technically share an aesthetician with Kim Kardashian?! But if you’re more concerned with skincare results versus bragging rights, then I might suggest looking elsewhere.
I don’t think this is the best option for those who have never been to an aesthetician before. Newbies can get frustrated with the time it takes to see results or overwhelmed with offerings on their first go-around. But I DO think it is worth the experience of sitting with a professional. Personalized skincare advice is always preferred over the generalized product recommendations you can get online.
Toska Spa and Facial Bar also get major points for their incredible customer service and knowledgeable staff. And I’m also someone who prioritizes aesthetics when it comes to a spa experience- these were top-notch!
Overall, I was impressed with my experience at Toska Spa and Facial Bar from top to bottom. And I’ll continue to enjoy the results of my skin’s much-needed revamp throughout the fall season.
