I’ll be honest. I should’ve been wearing contacts a longggg time ago. My journey to better eyesight has been an odd one. I knew that I should’ve been wearing some kind of corrective wear, but was scarred from rude elementary kids when I was younger. I had braces at the time and told my parents they had to choose one for me to have (LOL). My eyesight has never been that bad, but when I went to college I started having more difficulty. Reading the board in large auditoriums and staring at computer screens all day really took a toll. I would have to rush to get to class early because I needed to sit in the front 3 rows. If I was late, I would literally turn right back around because the class would be pointless.
I finally caved and got glasses my junior year and it completely changed the game! However, it still didn’t give me the confidence I needed. I always found they got in the way or I wanted to add sunglasses while driving. Contacts have always scared me because I have sensitive feeling eyes. I didn’t even wear eyeliner for years because my eyes would water! When the opportunity came up to try ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses, I jumped at the chance. I needed something to push me to try or I would always wonder if I’d like them… and I’m so glad I did!
First, I visited the eye doctor to get fitted for my lenses. After about an hour of tests, I had the contacts in my hands! I had to get them in before I could leave and I’ll admit it took a while!….. Ok, it took me 1.5 hours! I told you I had sensitive feeling eyes! However, once they were in I couldn’t even feel them. It was odd to have such great vision without glasses. One week after my initial appointment, I had my follow up. During that time I was able to find new tips and tricks in order to get my contacts in more quickly. For starters, YouTube was my best friend! I slowly realized I should use my middle finger to insert them and hold my eyelashes on my top eyelid. This allows me to open up my eye more and it won’t make my eyes water as much. While I was at the eye doctor, they showed me how to put them in and take them out before I left. However, those were the ways that worked best for THEM. Don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t work out that way for you! You’ll find the best process that works for you in time.
Since my follow up appointment, it’s definitely become easier every day. Driving at night isn’t something I dread anymore and I’m happy I can pay attention in my MBA classes without any problems! Also, the ACUVUE OASYS® 1-Day with HydraLuxe™ Technology are easy to change out. I can’t wait for the day where I can just pop them in without any problems! In order for me to balance blogging and school, being able to be efficient in my work is crucial. With my lenses, there’s one less thing to worry about.
ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses are available by prescription only for vision correction. An eye care professional will determine whether contact lenses are right for you. Although rare, serious eye problems can develop while wearing contact lenses. To help avoid these problems, follow the wear and replacement schedule and the lens care instructions provided by your eye doctor. Do not wear contact lenses if you have an eye infection, or experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, redness or other eye problems. If one of these conditions occurs, remove the lens and contact your eye doctor immediately.

Girl! It took me 1.5 hours to get just one in. The only they let me leave without doing the second myself is because my mom had been wearing them for 30 years.
I’m so glad I’ve found someone who knows that struggle 🤣
I AM NOT ALONEEEE. AGH. Thank you for this! 😂😂
